Arnold,

Thanks for presenting the V1 annual report.

To answer your questions:

Meetings:  Yes, there are no meetings scheduled.  V1 members do all their technical work with the three working groups of SC 34 and their international members, so they felt that local meetings did not justify the time and expense.  The only documentation we have is my Document Register that tracks all the e-mail ballots, communications with INCITS, etc.

Delegates:  By agreement of all members a few years back, all agreed that all members' names are to be submitted as delegates to the SC 34 meetings.  So I just send an e-mail to INCITS with a V1 document number on it.  (Any other U.S. citizen who wants to attend SC 34 just signs up as a representative of ISUG or OASIS instead of V1.)

Hopefully that answers your questions, Arnold.

Doris, thanks for the explanations.

There is in fact a requirement for TCs to have at least one meeting per year.  It does not have to be a face to face meeting, a teleconference will do fine.

To stay out of trouble with the procedures, I recommend that you run one official V1 meeting per year, using teleconference (or Net meeting, or any other electronic way).  I guess, the 5 of you meet on the phone anyway between the SC34 meetings.  Make one of these meetings an official V1 meeting, with an agenda, and minutes, and action items, and a list of participants.   You could at the same time re-confirm your delegates nomination for the SC34 meetings.

Can you please send me your document register (URL?).

Would it be possible to recruit more people into V1 (thus strengthening INCITS and the US position in SC34), instead of sending them to OASIS or ISUG?

If you want to talk about my suggestions, please indicate, when I can call you next week.

Arnold
