 Call for Contributions on the Development of a Strategy for Cooperation/Collaboration between INCITS Technical Committees and External Organizations - Action Item 16 from the February 2003 SPB Meeting


Background

At the February 2003 inaugural meeting of the INCITS Standards Policy Board, the following action item was assigned:
16.  The INCITS Secretariat will issue a call for contributions to the TC Chairmen and Standards Policy Board members on the development of a strategy for cooperation/collaboration between INCITS TCs and external organizations. Contributions will be reviewed at the April 2003 Standards Policy Board meeting.  (Agenda Item 7.2, February 2003 SPB minutes)
The relevant portion of the draft minutes from the February 2003 SPB meeting is attached below.  The following agreements with external organizations were approved at the February 2003 Executive Board meeting:
Requested Action

Members of the INCITS Standards Policy Board (SPB) and INCITS Technical Committee Chairmen are invited to submit contributions on the development of a strategy for cooperation/collaboration between INCITS Technical Committees and external organizations for consideration at the April 2003 Standards Policy Board meeting.  Contributions should be submitted to the INCITS Secretariat (jgarner@itic.org) by March 28, 2003.

7.2 Strategy for Cooperation/Collaboration between INCITS TCs and External Organizations

As a result of the Standards Development Board review of the L1 and the T11.5 cooperative/collaborative agreements with external organizations, the Standards Development Board has requested that the Executive Board remand this topic for consideration at the April 2003 Standards Policy Board meeting.  The INCITS Secretariat's analysis of INCITS TC liaisons will be posted for discussion under this agenda item.

Action Item:  The INCITS Secretariat will issue a call for contributions to the TC Chairmen and Standards Policy Board members on the development of a strategy for cooperation/collaboration between INCITS TCs and external organizations.
