SUBJECT:    Request for INCITS Approval to Forward the U.S. Initiated Proposal for a New Work Item for a Technical Specification for an Imagery Reference Model

Statement:

The subject-referenced U.S. Initiated New Work Item, Technical Specification for an Imagery Reference Model, is submitted by INCITS L1 for INCITS approval.

The L1 vote to approve this request is 13-0-0-3-16 (total membership).  Upon INCITS approval, L1 requests that the U.S. approved New Work Item be submitted to ISO/TC 211 for further processing. 

As noted in INCITS/SD-2, (March 2002), Organization, Rules and Procedures of INCITS, section 5.8.4.1,

".............If the U.S. proposal for NP is not derived from an existing INCITS development or maintenance project, then the proposed INCITS Subgroup action shall be sent to INCITS. If the INCITS Executive Board approves the proposal, INCITS shall submit the proposal directly to the SC if the proposal is intended for submission to an SC", albeit, an Technical Committee in this case. L1 is the U.S. counterpart to ISO/TC 211.
