Subject: ICCP Observations on Standards Policy Board Brainstorming
From: Thomas Kurihara ICCP

I am uncertain if the SPB activities have an "anchor," that is, a strategic plan and vision statement so that the feedback and contributions to the brainstorming has a focus other then on the activity itself. the focus on members and finances does not make a
strategic plan. I think a long range plan is needed, also input from ITIC, INCITS leadership, and TC leaders for national and international. A plan or position paper is needed to get a sense of purpose and to be able to shift emphasis and new opportunities arise from the regular SPB brainstorming sessions to stay current with what is going on outside of INCITS, unless I was not paying attention to your mailings.  I don't know how to get from concept to product.
