Deborah,

Please accept the following H3 position with respect to the 2003 Five-year review of H3 standards:

H3 recommends that A/I 9593-3 : 1990 [R1998], Ada Language Binding of the Programmers Hierarchical Interactive Graphics Standard (PHIGS) be declared as stabilized with the following rationale: "The standard is declared stabilized due to the fact that it (1) meets the criteria for stabilization, (2) there is no intent to initiate revision either now or in the foreseeable future, and (3) it is desirable to retain this standard within the program of work in support of the existing US application base."

The following motion supporting this position was taken at the H3 meeting on 3/21/03:

MOTION ( Protzman, Puk )  10-0-0-1-11
In accordance with ANSI and INCITS policy with regard to the five year maintenance of standards, H3 recommends that the following standards be declared as stabilized with the following rationale:

 "These standards are declared stabilized due to the fact that they (1) meet the criteria for stabilization, (2) there is no intent to initiate revision either now or in the foreseeable future, and (3) it is desirable to retain these standards within the program of work in support of the existing US application base."
