Subject: CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - Vice Chairman, INCITS Executive Board

The term of office of the current INCITS Executive Board (EB) Vice Chairman, Dr. Stephen Elliott, will expire in May 2006.  This first call for volunteers to serve as Vice Chairman of the INCITS Executive Board is being issued to the members of the EB and will close on February 20, 2006.

Any principal or alternate representative of an INCITS Executive Board voting member is welcome to volunteer to serve. Before volunteering, the commitment required in time and responsibilities should be considered. Officers must actively support the administrative structure that ensures due process to all participants, assist in reaching consensus, and protect the accreditation of the entire system.

The INCITS/RD-2, Organization and Procedures of INCITS, generally describes officers' responsibilities.

Those responding to this call must submit three written statements in support of their candidacy:

  1. A statement of experience, indicating the volunteer's expertise in the committee's program of work, voluntary standards efforts, committee experience and leadership abilities.

  2. A statement of management support acknowledging the additional workload, financial resources and duties required of an officer over and above that of a technical participant.
  3. Statements of management support on behalf of officer candidates must be submitted on organizational letterhead with appropriate signatures from those organizations that are affected by the additional workload and financial resources required.  Letters of management support should indicate a commitment for at least one year, although commitment for the full term of office is preferred.

  4. A statement indicating that the candidate is a representative of a US domiciled organization, as elected officers of INCITS committees with US TAG responsibilities must be representatives of US domiciled organizations.

The statements from candidates wishing to serve as Vice Chairman of the INCITS Executive Board should be sent to the attention of Pat Morris (pmorris@itic.org) no later than February 20, 2006.
