Subject: Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) Request for INCITS Executive Board Approval of a Project Proposal for a New INCITS Fast Track Standard,  Information technology - Server Management Command Line Protocol (SM CLP) Specification

Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) has forwarded a Project Proposal for a New INCITS Fast Track Standard, on
Information technology - Server Management Command Line Protocol (SM CLP) Specification, and is submitting the project to INCITS
for further processing.

In accordance with the INCITS Fast Track Process, Section 5.9 of the INCITS/RD-2, a call for comments is being issued.

5.9 INCITS Fast Track Process

"..........The INCITS Secretariat issues a call for comments on the proposal and INCITS members are asked to assess the proposal with respect to the following criteria:

If no objections are raised during this review, the developer will then be invited to submit the following:

  1. Candidate standard.
  2. Memorandum of understanding, that may be negotiated by the INCITS Secretariat on behalf of INCITS, detailing: agreement to respond and participate in accordance with Milestone 5  (Section 5.1.5); agreement regarding availability and distribution of copies
  3. for public review and balloting; agreement for maintenance responsibility in accordance with ANSI procedures; agreement that interpretations shall be accomplished in accordance with INCITS procedures and agreement that participation in further processing
    of the document be open to all directly and materially affected interests .
  4. Any other documentation the developer feels is relevant.
If objections are raised, the INCITS Secretariat will distribute those objections to the Executive Board and the proposer. The organization submitting the candidate standard will be required to respond to the objections raised in addition to the other documentation specified above......."

Any INCITS Executive Board member may request an appeal of the Project Proposal within seven calendar-days.
