Informal information meeting concerning meeting management and logistics,
for Heads of Delegation to the BRM who wish to attend

Dear Head of Delegation,

On behalf of the BRM Convenor, we would like to inform you that he will
informally cover various points concerning meeting management and
logistics, at a short meeting to be held in the early evening of Sunday 24
February 2008.  You as Head of Delegation, but not other delegates, are
welcome to attend.

The purpose of the meeting is to facilitate smooth and productive
management of the Ballot Resolution Meeting, which is a joint
responsibility of the Convenor and each Head of Delegation (HoD).  Given
the high level of controversy, HoDs have a particularly significant role
in managing their delegations in such a way that the overall BRM is
productive and succeeds in improving the quality of the text.  ISO and IEC
consider it crucial that this principal goal of the BRM should be
fulfilled.

The Convenor and ITTF would like to emphasize two points in connection
with this meeting.

1. The only subjects to be discussed at this meeting are BRM management
and logistics.  No substantive discussions concerning the subject of the
BRM may take place.

2. The meeting is for HoDs only (other delegates will not be admitted), it
is entirely optional, and no delegation will be at any disadvantage
whatsoever during the BRM itself even if its HoD does not attend this
information meeting.

The meeting is estimated to last between 60 and 90 minutes, and will take
place as follows:

date:  Sunday 24 February 2008
time:  18:00
place: 1 rue de Varembe, CH-1202 Geneva, Switzerland
room:  Ground-floor conference room.

The building is the one formerly containing the ISO offices, and is about
200 m from the BRM conference centre.

Regards, ...
