ISO Closing Date: June 16, 2008

The INCITS Secretariat has received the 2008 List of International Standards published five or ten years ago, or more, for systematic review. The U.S. TAG is required to recommend a vote for the National Body.

In accordance with clause 2.9 of the Procedures for the Technical Work of ISO/IEC Part 1, International Standards coming up to five years of age since publication shall be reviewed by the committee responsible for their development and maintenance. The review aims at deciding whether these International Standards should be confirmed, confirmed with correction of errors, revised/amended, declared as stabilized or withdrawn. The decision regarding confirmation, revision, declared as stabilized, or withdrawal should be based on the degree to which the International Standards have been implemented at the national level and applied in practice.

Technical Committee Action

The committee is to coordinate and develop the U.S. recommended position (via thirty-day letter ballot or roll call vote) to INCITS for approval. The U.S. vote will be forwarded to ANSI for submission to ISO/TC 211. For some standards, a recommendation may have been previously developed in the ISO Technical Committee (ISO/TC). The committee should provide the answers to the five questions and the technical committee vote. Please submit recommendations to bbennett@itic.org by the TC due date.  If you need a copy of the standards in order to provide a recommendation to INCITS, please let us know.

[Note: The answers to all five questions are required as stated below or in the enclosed questionniare form. Please insert the ISO designation and use a separate answer page for each standard.
