Washington, DC, March 24, 1995 -- Accredited Standards Committee X3, 
Information Technology announces the two-month public review of 
ISO/IEC 9592-4/DAM 2.  The public review extends from April 14, 1995 to June 13, 1995.

Part 4 of PHIGS, ISO/IEC 9592-4:1992, provides a set of functions which add lighting and shading capabilities as well as additional primitive to the PHIGS functions for the display and modification of 2D or 3D graphical data.  Part 4 is extended by Amendment 2 (Enhanced Control) to incorporate functionality which provides enhanced control.

Note:  This draft amendment is being processed simultaneously as an American
National Standard and an International Standard.  Due to the International
deadlines, comments received may not be received in time to be considered
before the international draft amendment ballot is determined.  Therefore, all
commentors are urged to submit your comments as early in the public review
period as possible.  Comments received after the international deadline will be
addressed and considered for future balloting and/or revision.
