ASC X3 Announces the Informal Call for Comment for COBOL

NEWS RELEASE Doc No.: PR/95-026 Washington, D.C., March 10, 1995 -- The first Working Draft for the revision of Programming Language COBOL (ISO/IEC 1989:1985 and ANSI X3.23:1985) will soon be available for an informal comment period. This revision is being processed simultaneously as an International Standard by ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC22/WG4 and as an American National Standard by Technical Committee X3J4. The call for comments is being issued to better prepare the draft that is to be formally submitted for registration in late 1995. Comments are requested to be submitted not later than June 27, 1995. Comments received after the deadline will be addressed and considered for future balloting and/or revision. Commentors will be notified when the next revision is issued. This document is subject to change without notice prior to its approval. No implementor should claim conformance to the working draft.
