Washington, D.C. -- Accredited Standards Committee X3, 
Information 
Technology announces the two-month public review to 
reaffirm ANSI 
X3.112:1984.  The public review extends from June 23, 
1995 to August 22, 
1995.

This standard provides the mechanical, physical and 
magnetic properties 
of a magnetic disk with a 14-inch (356-mm) diameter and 
low surface 
friction intended for mounting in data storage devices 
operating at 160 
000 flux transitions per track and at typical track density of 
480 tracks 
per inch (tpi).

This standard was reviewed by the technical experts to 
comply with 
ANSI procedures, that require a five-year review of 
approved 
standards.  The technical experts recommended this 
standard be 
reissued without change.
