Washington, D.C. -- Accredited Standards Committee X3,
Information
Technology announces the two-month public review to
reaffirm ANSI
X3.120:1984. The public review extends June 23, 1995 to
August 22, 1995.

This standard provides the mechanical, physical and
magnetic properties
of a magnetic disk with an 7.874-in (200 mm) diameter and
low surface
friction intended for mounting in data storage devices. A
typical recording
density is 480 tpi with 6858 flux transitions per inch (ftpi)
at a radius of
2.224 in (56,49 mm).

This standard was reviewed by the technical experts to
comply with
ANSI procedures, that require a five-year review of
approved
standards. The technical experts recommended this
standard be
reissued without change.
