X3 Announces the Public Comment Period for the Adoption of ISO/IEC 
11693:1994, Identification cards - Optical memory cards - General characteristics

Washington D.C., July 1995 -- Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing the public review for the adoption of ISO/IEC 11693:1994.  The comment period extends from July 21,
1995 through September 19, 1995.

This standard provides information necessary to store data on cards, to 
read data from cards, and for the physical, optical, and data 
interchangeability of optical memory cards in information processing 
systems.  It defines the general characteristics of optical memory cards 
including card materials, construction, characteristics, dimensions and test 
environments.

All comments should be submitted to:  X3 Secretariat, Lynn Barra, 1250 
Eye Street NW, Washington DC  20005, lbarra@itic.nw.dc.us.  Send a copy to 
the American National Standards Institute, 11 West 42nd Street, New York, 
NY  10036.
