X3 Announces the Public Comment Period for X3.278:199x,
Fibre Distributed Data Interface (FDDI), Physical Layer Repeater
Protocol (PHY-REP)

Washington D.C., July 1995 -- Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing the public review of X3.278:199x.
The comment period extends from July 21, 1995 to September19, 1995.

This FDDI standard specifies the Physical Layer Repeater Protocol (PHY-
REP) for the upper sublayer of the FDDI Physical Layer.  This standard will 
specify the PHY level entity of a repeater.  This repeater will use existing 
PMD specifications.  No changes to any of the FDDI documents (PMD, PHY, 
PHY-2, MAC-2, SMT, SMT-2, and HRC) are expected.

the American National Standards Institute, 11 West 42nd Street, New York, 
NY  10036.
