X3 Announces the Public Comment Period for X3.181:1990,
Recorded Magnetic Tape and Cartridge for Information Interchange,
1/2 Inch (12.65 mm), Serial Serpentine, 22-Track, 6 667 bpi (394 bpmm), 
MFM-Encoded - Requirements for Recording

Washington D.C., July 1995 -- Accredited Standards Committee X3, 
Information Technology is announcing the public review of X3.181:1990.
The comment period extends from July 21, 1995 to September 19, 1995.

This standard provides the requirements for a tape cartridge to be used 
for information interchange among information-processing systems, 
communication systems, and associated equipment utilizing a standard 
code for information interchange as agreed upon by the interchange 
parties.  This standard deals solely with the requirements for recording on 
magnetic tape.

In accordance with ANSI procedures, which require a five-year review of 
its approved standards, the development committee X3B5 recommends 
this standard be reissued without change.
