X3 Announces the Public Comment Period for the Revision of ANSI 
X3.137:1988, One- and Two-Sided, Unformatted 90 mm (3.5 in), 5.3 tpmm 
(135-tpi), Flexible Disk Cartridge for 7958 bpr Use - General, Physical and 
Magnetic Requirements, Type 301

Washington D.C., August 1995 -- Accredited Standards Committee X3, 
Information Technology is announcing the public review for the revision of 
ANSI X3.137:1988. The comment period extends from September 15, 1995 
through November 14, 1995.

The revision contains substantive and editorial changes to ANSI 
X3.137:1988.  The standard specifies the general, physical and magnetic 
requirements for inter-changeability of the one- and two-sided 90-mm 
(3.5 in) (nominal) flexible disk cartridge (for 7958 bits-per-radian (bpr) 
use) as required to achieve unformatted disk cartridge interchange among 
disk drives using 80 tracks per side and associated information processing 
systems.

ANSI X3.137:1988, a 1989 editorial corrections page, and the list of 1995 
changes can be purchased from the Global Engineering Documents, Inc., 15

793-2181.  The cost is $25.00 (Domestic) and $32.50 (International).
