X3 Announces the Establishment of a New Technical Committee, X3T13 - AT Attachment
Washington D.C., December 1995 -- Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing the formation of a new technical committee, X3T13 - AT Attachment. The X3T13 Technical Committee was formally established in December 1995 to develop standards and technical reports on I/O interfaces, specifically ATA, also known as IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics). This new committee was formally a part of X3T10, I/O Interface (responsible for the development of SCSI standards). There are currently four projects related to ATA under development, which have been transfered from X3T10 to X3T13. One of the projects, ANSI X3.221:1994, AT Attachment, has been published and one is a draft standard, X3.279:199x, AT Attachment Extensions (ATA-2). Any individuals or organizations who are materially affected or interested in the work of X3T13 are invited to participate.
