Washington D.C., February 1996 - Accredited Standards Committee
X3, Information Technology is announcing the public comment
period for ISO/IEC CD 14417.3. The public review extends from March 15,
1996 to May 14, 1996.
This standard specifies the physical and magnetic characteristics of a 19,0 mm
wide tape cassette, including the unrecorded, recorded and file structure
requirements to enable information interchange between information processing
systems. Three sizes of cassette and two tape thicknesses are defined to allow
for physically small data acquisition hardware as well as larger systems capable
of using all three sizes interchangeably.
Note: This draft international standard is being processed simultaneously
as an American National Standard and an International Standard.
