X3 Announces the Public Comment Period for X3.104:1983, Recorded Magnetic Tape Mini-cassette for Information Interchange, Coplanar 3.81 mm (0.150 in), Phase Encoded ** Submitted For Withdrawal **
Washington D.C., February 1996 - Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing the public comment period for X3.104:1983. The public review extends from March 29, 1996 to May 28, 1996. This standard is intended to provide the format and recording requirements for a 3.81 mm (0.150 in) wide magnetic tape in a mini-cassette to be used for information interchange between information processing systems, communication systems, and associated equipment utilizing ANSI X3.4:1977, American National Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII), and amendments thereto. In accordance with ANSI procedures, which require a five-year review of its approved standards, the developing committee, X3B5 - Flexible Magnetic Media and Formats, recommended that this standard be withdrawn as it is no longer widely used.
