X3 Announces the Public Review Comment Period for ISO/IEC 9592-4:1992/AM2, Information Processing Systems - Computer graphics - Programmer's Hierarchical Interactive Graphics System (PHIGS) Part 4 - Plus Lumiere und Surfaces, PHIGS PLUS AMENDMENT 2: Enhanced Control
Washington D.C., March 1996 - Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing the public comment period for ISO/IEC 9592-4:1992/AM2. The public review extends from April 12, 1996 to June 11, 1996. Part 4 of PHIGS, ISO/IEC 9592-4:1992, provides a set of functions which add lighting and shading capabilities as well as additional primitive to the PHIGS functions for the display and modification of 2D or 3D graphical data. Part 4 is extended by Amendment 2 (Enhanced Control) to incorporate functionality which provides enhanced control. Functionality is provided to control the application of textures to objects and to interactively apply changes to light source definitions. Note: This draft international standard has been processed simultaneously as an American National Standard and an International Standard.
