X3 Announces the Public Review Comment Period for
ISO/IEC 9593-4:1992/DAM2, Information Processing Systems - Computer 
graphics - Programmer's Hierarchical Interactive Graphics System (PHIGS) 
language bindings Part 4: C AMENDMENT 2: Incorporation of PHIGS 
amendments 

Washington D.C., May 1996 - Accredited Standards Committee X3, 
Information Technology is announcing the public comment period for 
ISO/IEC 9593-4:1992/DAM2.  The public review extends from June 7, 
1996 to August 6, 1996.

Several amendments to ISO/IEC 9592 add to PHIGS and PHIGS PLUS 
functionality supporting the processing of non-related data, enhanced 
control. enhanced input, and portability and registered items.  This part of 
ISO/IEC 9593 includes the C language binding of the functionality specified 
in these amendments to ISO/IEC 9592.

Note:  This draft international standard is being processed simultaneously 
as an American National Standard and an International Standard.  

Public Review Comment Instructions:

The public review period closes on August 6, 1996.  However, in order for
comments to affect the position of the U.S. TAG, they must be received 
prior to July 3, 1996.  Therefore, all commentors are urged to submit 
comments as early in the public review period as possible.  Public review 
comments received after June 13, 1996 will be addressed and considered 
for future balloting and/or revision.
