X3 Announces the Public Comment Period for the Reaffirmation of ANSI/ISO 4341:1978, Magnetic Tape Cassette and Cartridge Labeling and File Structure for Information Interchange
Washington D.C., June 1996 - Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing the public comment period for ANSI/ISO 4341:1978. The public review extends from July 19, 1996 to September 17, 1996. This Standard specifies file structures for data interchange on magnetic tape cassettes. To provide for the range of sophistication in equipment and applications, the basic, compact, and extended systems are specified. This standard is not limited to the 3,81 mm magnetic tape cassette described in ISO 3407 but could also be applied to higher capacity cassettes or cartridges. In accordance with ANSI procedures, which require a five-year review of approved standards, the responsible committee, X3B5 recommends this standard be reissued, without change. Submit all comments to: X3 Secretariat, Attn.: Lynn Barra, 1250 Eye Street, NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20005, Email: lbarra@itic.nw.dc.us.
