X3 Announces the Public Comment Period for X3.222:199x, 
High-Performance Parallel Interface Physical Switch Control (HIPPI-SC)
(Revision of the 1993 edition)


Washington D.C., June 1996 - Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information 
Technology is announcing the public comment period for X3.222:199x.  This 
draft standard is the revision of ANSI X3.222:1993.  Upon final approval, this 
draft will replace the 1993 edition.
 
The public review extends from July 19, 1996 to September 17, 1996.

This revised draft American National Standard provides switch control for 
physical layer switches using the High-Performance Parallel Interface (HIPPI), a 
high-performance point-to-point interface between data-processing equipment.  
This standard does not protect against errors introduced by intermediate devices 
interconnecting multiple HIPPI-PHs.
