X3 Announces the second Public Comment Period for X3.292:199x, SCSI-3 Interlocked Protocol (SIP)
Washington D.C., September 1996 - Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing the second public comment period for X3.292:199x. Development of this draft standard is being done in technical committee X3T10, Lower Level Interface The public review extends from September 13, 1996 to November 12, 1996. This draft standard defines the SCSI-3 Interlocked Protocol (SIP). The role of SIP is to supply a mapping of the SCSI-3 command sets to the SCSI parallel bus as defined in SCSI-3 Parallel Interface (X3.253:1995). SIP is closely derived from the protocol portions of SCSI-2 (X3.131:1994). SIP is intended to be a fully compliant expression of SCSI-3 Architecture Model (SAM) (X3.270:1996). This draft was previously announced in standards action from April 26, 1996 through June 25, 1996. Due to substanstive changes, it has been re-submitted.
