X3 Announces the Revision of ANSI X3.30:1985, Representation of Calendar Date and Ordinal Data for Information Interchange
Washington D.C., September 1996 -- Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing that ANSI X3.30:1985 is being revised. The technical committee responsible for this area is X3L8, Data Representation. ANSI X3.30:1985 provides the standard means of representing calendar date and ordinal date to facilitate interchange of data among data systems. This standard is limited to the interchange of data among data systems. The revision is intended to produce an updated X3.30 standard that removes the ambiguities contained in the current standard and provides a single representation for the interchange of data among data systems. Inquiries regarding this should be sent to the Chairman of X3L8, Mr. Phong X. Ngo, Science Applications International Corporation, 200 North Glebe Rd., Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22203, 703-908-2433. Email: ngo.phongx@epamail.epa.gov. The next meeting of X3L8 is October 15-16, 1996 in Arlington, VA. All organizations and individuals who are materially or directly affected are invited to participate. An initial call for possible patents and other pertinent issues (copyrights, trademarks) is now being issued. Please submit information on these issues to the X3 Secretariat at 1250 Eye Street NW, Suite 200, Washington DC 20005. Email: x3sec@itic.nw.dc.us FAX: (202)638-4922.
