This part of ISO/IEC 9579 does not specify individual implementations or products, nor does it constrain the implementation of entities and interfaces within a computer system. It does not define a programmatic interface; instead, database language statements are carried by the R-Execute DBL Service. Amendment 1 extends the RDA/SQL Specialization to cover all SQL database capabilities defined in ISO/IEC 9075 (Database Language SQL), whereas the existing standard only covers Entry SQL facilities.
