X3 Announces the Public Comment Period for X3.30:199x, Representation of Data for Information Interchange (revision of X3.30:1985)

Washington D.C., December 1996 - Accredited Standards Committee X3, Information Technology is announcing the public comment period for X3.30:199x. Development of this draft standard is being done in technical committee X3L8, Data Representation.

The public review extends from January 17, 1997 to March 18, 1997.

The scope of this American National Standard is limited to the representation of calendar date for interchange among data systems; it does not describe how the date is determined. This standard was not designed for (nor does it preclude) usage by humans as input to, or output from data systems. This standard does not address how data is converted by data systems to be internally processed and/or stored.
