NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards) NEWS RELEASE Doc. No.: PR/97-020 Reply to: Deborah J. Donovan at ddonovan@itic.nw.dc.us
Washington D.C., February 1997 - NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards) is announcing the public comment period for ANSI X3.28:1976. The public review extends from March 14, 1997 to May 13, 1997.
This standard specifies a variety of data communication control procedures to meet the needs of data communication links having different configurations or complexity. Covered in each category are standard control procedures to perform the communication functions necessary for (1) the establishment and termination of transmission between stations on a link and (2) the transfer of message between stations.
This standard is being withdrawn because the technical committee, X3S3, that developed this standard was disbanded in July 1996. (Note: The US TAG to SC6, Telecommunications and Information exchange between Systems is still active, contact Mr. Jim Carlo at jcarlo@ti.com)
