JTC 1 TAG Announces the U.S. Submission to JTC 1, the Proposal for a New Work Item for SCSI-3 Primary Commands (SPC)

Washington D.C., June 1997 -- JTC 1 TAG (U.S. TAG to ISO/IEC JTC 1, Information Technology) announces the Public Review and Comment Period on the U.S. Submission to JTC 1 of a proposed New Work Item for SCSI-3 Primary Commands (SPC).

The JTC 1 TAG is soliciting comments from the U.S. community on the submission of this proposed New Work Item.

This proposed standard defines the device model for all SCSI devices, the SCSI commands that are basic to every device model and the SCSI commands that may apply to any device model. The processor device model is also defined in this standard. Some target SCSI devices may require a host implementation of the processor device model to support the Asynchronous Event Reporting capability defined in the SCSI-3 Architecture Model.

The public review period extends from July 4, 1997 through August 2, 1997.

Please send all comments to: The JTC 1 TAG Administrator, 1250 Eye Street, NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20005, Attn.: Barbara Bennett (Email: bbennett@itic.nw.dc.us). A second copy should be sent to Matthew Deane, American National Standards Institute, 11 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036 (Email: mdeane@ansi.org).

To obtain a copy of this proposed New Work Item, please contact Barbara Bennett (see above) or call (202) 626-5743.
