Washington D.C., July 1997 - NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards) is announcing the public comment period for X3.149:1986 [1992]. The public review extends from July 18, 1997 to September 16, 1997.
This standard provides the location of the imprinted account number, area for source ID, amount of transaction, and date of transaction as they appear on 51-column and 80-column card size financial transaction card formsets. This standard does not apply to financial transaction formsets itemized by many point-of-sale devices such as cash register printers. Dimensions are given in both U.S. customary (inch) and SI (metric) units. The U.S. customary dimensions are exact: SI dimensions are rounded.
In accordance with ANSI procedures, which require a five-year review of approved standards, the responsible committee, B10 recommends this standard be reissued, without change.
