NCITS Announces the Public Comment Period for the Reaffirmation of ANSI X3.203:1992, Helical-Scan Digital Computer Tape Cartridge, 3.81 mm (0.150 in) Digital Data Storage (DDS) Recorded Format for Information Interchange

Washington D.C., August 1997 - NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards) is announcing the public comment period for ANSI X3.203:1992. The public review extends from August 15, 1997 to October 14, 1997.

This standard provides the requirements for the helical-scan recording method and the Digital Data Storage (DDS) recorded format of a 3.81-mm (0.50-in) magnetic tape cartridge to be used for information interchange between information processing systems.

Information Interchange between information processing systems requires the use of this standard in conjunction with the unrecorded tape and cartridge requirements provided by ANSI X3.206:1993, American National Standard for Information Systems - Unrecorded Helical-Scan Digital Computer Tape Cartridge for Information Interchange, 3.81-mm (0.150-in).

Information interchange between information processing systems requires the use of this standard in conjunction with the unrecorded tape and cartridge requirements provided by the American National Standard for Information Systems - Unrecorded Helical-Scan Digital Computer Tape Cartridge for Information Interchange, 3.81-mm (0.150-in), ANSI X3.206:1993.

In accordance with ANSI procedures and NCITS, which require a five-year review of approved standards, Technical Committee B5 recommends this standard be reissued, without change.
