Washington D.C., August 1997 - NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards) is announcing the public comment period for ANSI X3.205:1992. The public review extends from August 15, 1997 to October 14, 1997.
This standard provides the requirements for the Helical-Scan recording method and the DATA/DAT recorded format of a 3.81 mm (0.150 in) magnetic tape cartridge to be used for information interchange between information processing systems.
In accordance with ANSI procedures and NCITS, which require a five-year review of approved standards, Technical Committee B5 recommends this standard be reissued, without change.
