Washington D.C., August 1997 - NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards is announcing the public comment period for ISO/IEC DIS 14772-1. The public review extends from August 15, 1997 to October 14, 1997.
The VRML specification defines a file formate that integrates 3D graphics and multimedia. Conceptually, each VRML file is a 3D time-based space that contains graphic and aural object that can be dynamically modified through a variety of mechanisms. VRML defines a primary set of objects and mechanisms that encourage composition, encapsulation, and extension.
Note: This draft international standard is being processed simultaneously as an American National Standard and an International Standard.
Public Review Comment Instructions:
To facilitate speedy consideration of comments, please submit them via email to (ddonovan@itic.nw.dc.us). In addition, all public review comments must include name, company name, address, telephone number, and email address if applicable.
The public review period closes on October 14, 1997. However, in order for comments to affect the position of the U.S. TAG, they must be received prior to August 20, 1997. Therefore, all commentors are urged to submit comments as early in the public review period as possible. Public review comments received after October 14, 1997 will be addressed and considered for future balloting and/or revision.
