Washington D.C., September 1997 -- JTC 1 TAG (U.S. TAG to ISO/IEC JTC 1, Information Technology) announces the Public Review and Comment Period on the U.S. Submission to JTC 1 of a New Work Item Proposal based on the IEEE Draft Standard 1003.23, Guide for Developing User Organization Open Systems Environment (OSE) Profiles.
The JTC 1 TAG is soliciting comments from the U.S. community on the submission of this proposed New Work Item.
This proposed standard describes a process for developing user organization OSE profiles, as opposed to standardized profiles. The Guide includes a framework for documenting user requirements, related information-technology services, conformance testing and transition planning considerations, and examples of user organization OSE profiles.
The public review period extends from October 24, 1997 through November 23, 1997.
