Washington D.C., October 1997 - NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards is announcing the public comment period for ISO/IEC DIS 12087-5. The public review extends from October 10, 1997 to December 9, 1997.
This document, Part 5 of the International Standard for Image Processing and Interchange (IPI), establishes the specification of the Basic Image Interchange Format (BIIF) part of the standard. BIIF is a standard developed to provide a foundation for interoperability in the interchange of imagery and imagery-related data among applications. This standard provides a detailed description of the overall structure of the format, as well as specification of the valid data and format for all fields defined with BIIF. Annex C contains a model profile in tables to assist in profile development.
Note: This draft international standard is being processed simultaneously as an American National Standard and an International Standard.
Public Review Comment Instructions:
To facilitate speedy consideration of comments, please submit them via email to (ddonovan@itic.nw.dc.us). In addition, all public review comments must include name, company name, address, telephone number, and email address if applicable.
The public review period closes on December 9, 1997. However, in order for comments to affect the position of the U.S. TAG, they must be received prior to October 31, 1997. Therefore, all commentors are urged to submit comments as early in the public review period as possible. Public review comments received after October 31, 1997 will be addressed and considered for future balloting and/or revision.
