NCITS Announces the Public Review Comment Period for ISO/IEC DIS 14478-4, Information processing systems - Computer graphics and image processing - Presentation environment for Multimedia Objects (PREMO) - Part 4 - Modelling, Rendering, and Interaction Component Format

Washington D.C., October 1997 - NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards is announcing the public comment period for ISO/IEC DIS 14478-4. The public review extends from October 10, 1997 to December 9, 1997.

This Part of ISO/IEC 14478 describes a set of object types and non-object types to provide the construction of, presentation of, and the interaction with Multimedia information. The Multimedia information can be graphics, video, audio, or other types of presentable media. This information can be enhanced by time aspects. Throughout this document this Part of ISO/IEC 14478 will also be referred to as "modelling, Rendering and Interaction" and abbreviated as MRI.

Note: This draft international standard is being processed simultaneously as an American National Standard and an International Standard.

Public Review Comment Instructions:

To facilitate speedy consideration of comments, please submit them via email to (ddonovan@itic.nw.dc.us). In addition, all public review comments must include name, company name, address, telephone number, and email address if applicable.

The public review period closes on December 9, 1997. However, in order for comments to affect the position of the U.S. TAG, they must be received prior to November 7, 1997. Therefore, all commentors are urged to submit comments as early in the public review period as possible. Public review comments received after November 7, 1997 will be addressed and considered for future balloting and/or revision.
