Washington D.C., November 1997 - NCITS (National Committee for Information Technology Standards) is announcing the public comment period for X3.50:1986 [R1992]. The public review extends from November 7, 1997 to January 6, 1998.
This standard provides representations for units of weights and measure to be used in data interchange. The representations apply to names of U.S. customary units and internationally recognized units and their decimal multiples and submultiples.
In accordance with ANSI procedures and NCITS, which require a five- year review of approved standards, OMC recommends this standard recommends this standard be reissued, without change.
