NCITS Announces the Establishment of a New NCITS Technical Committee on

R1 - Real-Time Computing Systems

NCITS (www.ncits.org) announces the establishment of a new technical committee, R1 - Real-Time Computing Systems. NCITS established the new technical committee at their December 1-3, 1998 meeting.

The first organizational meeting will be convened by Mr. Barry Hedquist (beh@peren.com) in San Diego, CA, on Friday, January 15, 1999  from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The mission of R1, Real-Time Computer Systems Technical Committee, is to develop standards for real-time computer systems through a recognized and proven standards process in areas where they do not currently exist. The technical committee projects will be drawn from work being developed outside a formal ANSI/ISO standards process as well as initiated projects agreed to by R1 members and approved by NCITS. .
