Tips on standards nomenclature:

Draft standards do not have a year of approval as part of their designation. Approved standards do have a year of approval. Reaffirmed standards have the year of their approval (or last revision) and, in brackets, the year the standard was reaffirmed. Adopted international standards have the year of their approval and, in brackets, the year the standard was adopted.

INCITS 333 or INCITS 333:200x, is a draft standard

INCITS 333:1998 is an approved standard

INCITS 333:1993 [R1998] is a standard approved in 1993 and reaffirmed in 1998

INCITS/ISO/IEC 22051:2002 [], is a published international standard and a candidate standard for INCITS adoption

INCITS/ISO/IEC 10036:1993 [1999] is an international standard approved in 1993 and adopted in 1999.
