B10.9's major project currently is ISO/IEC 24727: Identification cards - Integrated Circuit Card Programming Interfaces, consisting of five parts. This international project is assigned to SC 17. The Project Editors for each of the parts of ISO/IEC 24727 also participate in B10.9, where recommendations for technical and editorial modifications are identified and approved for forwarding to B10 as United States National Body Positions under JTC1 letter ballots taken, as each document progresses through its international development stage. B10.9 is also considering a National development Project and has formed an Ad Hoc Group to recommend a course of action to B10.9.

INCITS B10.9 Task Group generally meets three times per year, January, April/May and August. The B10.9 Meetings are generally scheduled to take place on the Tuesday prior to B10 Plenary meeting which normally is held on Thursday.
