INCITS STUDY GROUP ON LINUX REPORT TO
THE INCITS
EXECUTIVE BOARD - JANUARY 2007

Convener, INCITS Study Group on Linux
1. At its September 2004 meeting, the INCITS
Executive Board continued the INCITS Study Group on Linux in
existence. Originally tasked for Linux, the group also may
develop and submit positions or recommendations related to POSIX.
As a memberr of CT22 the ISGL may also submit votes on CT22 ballots
when appropriate.

membership remains at six organizations:
- Hewlett Packard
- IBM
- Intel
- Oracle Corporation (advisory)
- Sun Microsystems
- USENIX
3. The last report submitted to the INCITS Executive Board
was in October 2006.
4. Since our last report the Study
Group has submitted a recommendation to the INCITS Executive Board and
Standards Development Board concerning SC 22 N 4160, CD Registration
and Approval Ballot for ISO/IEC CD 9945, POSIX. This
recommendation was submitted via IN/06-1471 (LX/06-0005) for the INCITS
EB/SDB January, 2007 meetings.
5. The INCITS Study Group on
Linux has no meetings scheduled
at this time.
6. Dave Thewlis will be scheduled for Officer Training in the
first quarter of 2007.
