INCITS STUDY GROUP ON LINUX REPORT TO
THE INCITS EXECUTIVE BOARD - April 2007
Dave Thewlis
Convener, INCITS Study Group on Linux
1. At its September 2004 meeting, the INCITS Executive
Board continued the INCITS Study Group on Linux in existence. Originally
tasked for Linux, the group also may develop and submit positions or recommendations
related to POSIX. As a memberr of CT22 the ISGL may also submit votes
on CT22 ballots when appropriate.
2 INCITS SGL membership remains at six organizations:
- Hewlett Packard
- IBM
- Intel
- Oracle Corporation (advisory)
- Sun Microsystems
- USENIX
3. The last report submitted to the INCITS Executive Board
was in January 2007.
4. There has been no activity in the INCITS Study Group on
Linux since submission of my last quarterly report. SC 22 has just distributed
ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC22 N 4192, Change to the SC 22 Program of Work - Reducing
ISO/IEC 9945 to a Single Part Standard. I expect the INCITS Study Group
on Linux will submit a recommendation to the INCITS Executive Board on the
U.S. vote on this ballot.
5. The INCITS Study Group on Linux has no meetings scheduled at this
time.
6. Dave Thewlis will be scheduled for Officer Training in the second
quarter of 2007.
Respectfully Submitted,
Dave Thewlis
Convener, INCITS Study Group on Linux
