Call for Participants to Serve on the M1 Ad-Hoc Group on Biometric Interoperability in Support of the GSC Framework

Reference M1 meeting held on 21-22 August, 2002:

Motion: Government Smart Card Interoperability Specification.

M1 forms an Ad Hoc Group on Biometric Interoperability in Support of the GSC Framework with the following terms of reference:

1) M1 AHG Chair - Cathy Tilton

2) Duration - The AHG will work between M1 Meeting # 3 (August 21-22, 2002) and M1 Meeting # 5 (TBD).

3) Tasks -

3a) Study the sufficiency of ANSI/INCITS 358: 2002 and NISTIR-6529-A to support the future biometric interoperability requirements of the Government Smart Card Interoperability Specification NISTIR 6887 (GSC-IS V2.0) and the planned additions through GSC-IS V2.2.

3b) Study if referring to other existing standards (e.g., FCD 7816-11) can satisfy these interoperability requirements and if an application profile is needed or extensions to existing standards are needed.

3c) Prepare and submit a report on the results of its study to M1.

4) Tasks are to be performed in coordination with the NIST/BC WG and BioAPI Consortium.

Discussion: Mrs. Tilton – intent would be to involve people from M1, but also the BioAPI Consortium.

Vote on the Motion: Unanimous consent.

The motion passes.
