on the M1 Ad-Hoc Group on Biometric
Performance Testing and Reporting (AHGBPTR) Reference M1 meeting held on 21-22
August, 2002:
(Hogan / Elliott) Motion: Establish standards of measurements, (FTE/FRR/FTE). M1 forms an Ad Hoc Group on Biometric Performance Testing, Quality and Definitions with the following terms of reference: 1) M1 AHG Chair – Ron Sutton 2) Duration - The AHG will work between M1 Meeting # 3 (August 21-22, 2002) and M1 Meeting # 5 (TBD). 3) Tasks - 3a) create a draft project proposal for ballot by M1 as a
category D project addressing standardized definitions of biometric
“system” performance measurements, including FTE, FMR, FNMR etc., standard
shared data sets, standardized test procedures and standards for reporting
test results. 3b)
concurrently produce a draft US contribution to JTC1/SC37 for an NP, when
it has defined appropriate submissions prior to October 31 st ,
to the IR. Discussion: Issue related to the scope of the project,
as well as the focus of the internal or external testing. Mr. Podio,
seeking to authorize an ad-hoc to produce the scope of the
NP’s. Vote on the Motion: Unanimous consent. The
motion passes. Mr. Podio appoints Mr. Sutton as chair of the Ad hoc
committee. Call for
Participation
This call is being issued to the members for response. M1 Members interested in participation on the Ad-Hoc Group should notify Ron Sutton (mailto: ronald.d.sutton@lmco.com). For logistics purposes please respond as soon as possible, but no later than October 12, 2002. I would like to prepare ‘straw-man’ versions of the draft project proposal and draft US contribution and circulate them for comments as soon as practical. If you would like to contribute to these efforts, please notify me as soon as possible.
