At the 3rd M1 meeting on 21/22 August 2002, the M1 committee passed the following
motion:

Cards (TM) (see M1/02-0157), by the NIST/BC Biometric Interoperability,

specification is within the SC37 area of work. Upon acceptance and approval of
this specification by the NIST/BC WG, M1 will issue a 30-day letter ballot for
submission of this specification as a technical contribution to SC37 for
consideration for further processing."

American National
Standards are developed by the voluntary participation of all parties and with
the
intention and expectation
that the standards will be suitable for wide application. Since their use is
likewise voluntary, an
affirmative vote does not commit an organization or group represented on the
committee to the use of
the American National Standard under consideration. If you find that you
cannot vote YES and wish
to vote NO or ABSTAIN, please state this and explain the reasons for your
position in the space
provided or on a separate sheet.
