There was a discussion that clarified the letter ballot that will be issued on the German NP for BioAPI Part 2.   The view that the ballot resolution conducted in the January meeting can reach a conclusion on this issue.

An M1 Ad Hoc Group on Issues for Harmonizing Conformity Assessment to Biometric Standards was formed by the M1 Chair, with the following terms of reference:

 

INCITS M1 establishes an Ad Hoc Group with the following terms of reference:

 

1) Title: M1 Ad Hoc Group on Issues for Harmonizing Conformity Assessment to Biometric Standards

2) Chair: Michael Hogan

3) Purpose:

3.1) Develop a taxonomy which identifies and defines the possible types of activities that may occur under Conformity Assessment schemes (e.g., supplier’s declaration, laboratory accreditation, test tool development, certification/validation).

3.2) Map the ISO CASCO developed Guides and Standards to the activities identified in 3.1.

3.3) Identify the various kinds biometric standards which M1 could develop for use in biometric standards based conformance testing program.

3.4) Identify issues and solutions for harmonizing biometric standards based conformance testing programs.

4) Deliverable: Report to M1 for consideration by M1 as: an M1 standing document, possible subsequent publication as a NISTIR, and possible submission as a US NB contribution to JTC 1/SC 37.
