the Negative Vote and Comments received for M1 Letter
Ballot M1/03-0420, Approval of forwarding the Transportation Workers Application Profile (Ref. M1/03-0419) to INCITS for Public Review. |
Dear Mr. Lazarick,
Thank you for your comments on M1 Letter Ballot M1/03-0420.
M1.3 Task Group has recommended M1 approval of the resolution of ballot comments documented in M1/03-0534 (9/0/0) and M1 approved M1.3's recommendation (26/0/0) to address your comments as shown below.

| General: The document has omissions which are sufficiently significant and require completion prior to public review, and additional corrections need to be made: | Noted |
See below |
| General: Complete each of the tables in Annex A and Annex B. | Accepted |
All are now complete |
| General: Align the
referenced
clauses in
each of the formats in Annex A and Annex B with the base standards, or
remove
the reference since it will be difficult to keep the references current. They will almost always be out of synch with the base standards. |
Partically accepted |
Continue with alignment |
| General: Provide a definition of
Biometric Quality. How will that be
reflected in the
profile standard? For each
biometric type, how is “biometric quality” specified or performed? |
Noted |
There is an activity in M1 to
address this issue and when consensus is reached, this can be added as
an addendum to the standard |
| Annex A: In each of the tables
for each of the formats in
Annex A, identify those requirements for which an optional value may
exist, and
specify the value required for this profile. Specify the required value or range of values for each item in each application (enrollment, identification, and verification) for each format. |
Noted | The template editors will be
requested to provide specific recommendations and identify where such
values can be used. |
| Annex B: In Annex B it would be
useful for the manufacturer
to specify the value or range of values for each item in the list
rather than
to state [yes] or [no] compliance. See above. |
Noted | The template editors will be requested to provide specific recommendations and identify where such values can be used. |
| General: There should be consistent font size between clauses 1-6 and 7-10. | Accepted | |
| Annex
A: In Annex A, clause A.1,
not all of
the status notations are used, so the list should include only those that are used. In Annex A, clause A.1, the last paragraph references the requirements list (RL) and states that they are in Annex A, while they are really in Annex B. Remove A.3.4 as it is not applicable. |

Procedures for the International Committee for Information Technology
Standards (http://incits.org/incits/rd2/main.htm).

Please note, in accordance with BSR Procedures, those objecting to the approvals or withdrawals are hereby notified of their right of appeal. The appeal must be based on due process or lack of consensus and include a statement as to why the BSR action should be modified.
