Call for comments on M1/03-0590, revised dpANS Iris Image Interchange Format, regarding M1 project 1576-D.

At its meeting on August 21-22, 2003, M1 approved through a roll call vote
M1.1's recommended disposition of comments on INCITS 379 (M1/03-0391) and the request to forward the dpANS to INCITS Secretariat for initial public review. M1 and M1.1 voted that the required changes to INCITS 379 as a result of the disposition of comments were not considered substantial.

In response to the request for a recommendation on the management review (in031337) of INCITS 379, the INCITS M1 SDB Liaison concluded that the changes accepted by M1/M1.1 from the initial public review, were not just editorial, and a second public review is required. The INCITS Standards Development Board supported the M1 SDB Liaison recommendation. As a result, M1 needs to take action on forwarding the revised draft for a second public review based on the accepted comments from the disposition of comments. Document M1/03-0590 incorporates the comments accepted by M1/M1.1 at the August 2003 meeting.

At the January 2004 meeting, M1.3 (new number assigned to the Task Group on Data Formats - see note below) will consider an action to recommend to M1, approval to forward M1/03-0590 for a second public review.

Comments on the revised draft (M1/03-0590) are welcome. M1.3 will review these comments at the January 2004 meeting for possible incorporation into the document prior to forwarding this draft for the second public review.

Comments must be sent to the M1.3 Task Group Chair (Creed Jones) no later than December 26 so they can be posted two weeks prior to the January meeting of the data formats TG.

NOTE: As of January 2004, the data formats TG will be known as M1.3.  The numeric designations are being reassigned to better align with the subgroups of JTC1.
