N395: Having
reviewed the contributions submitted and based on the meeting discussions, the Rapporteur Group has prepared a draft report contained in
document SC 37 N 395. The Rapporteur Group requests
the SC 37 Secretariat to circulate this document to the SC 37 National Bodies
for review and comment by 19 February 2004. The Rapporteur Group
requests the SC 37 Secretariat to collect the comments into a single document
and to forward these comments to the SC 37 National Bodies for information and
to the document co-editors, Rene McIver and Mike Hogan, for preparation of a disposition of comments
document and proposed revised report. The editors document will be reviewed by
the Rapporteur Group members via teleconference and a
resultant final report will be forwarded to SC 37 in time for consideration at
the June 2004 SC 37 meeting in Korea.
N396: The Liaison
Officer from SC37 to SC27 (Colin
Soutar) would like to
draw attention to the parts of the document that refer to biometric performance
testing (Section 1, Scope) - c.f. SC37 WG5 activities; the Biometrics Processes
and Systems (sections 5.1 and 5.4) - c.f. SC37 WG1 activities and SC37
N0301/WG4 NWI on Biometric Reference Architecture; and the Biometric
Application Classes (section 5.5) - c.f. SC37 N0302/WG4 NWI on Biometric Profile
for Employees. He is continuing to actively work with Alice Sturgeon, the
Liaison Officer from SC27 to SC37 to try and clarify the standards development
work of the SC27 and SC37 sub-committees, relative to the respective scopes of
the committees, and in accordance with our joint Liaison statement (SC37
N0134/SC27 N3525) as agreed by SC27 at its plenary meeting (SC27 N3615).
Call for Contributions
This
call is being issued to the members of M1 for response to the above SC37 call
for comments. Comments on N395 should be
submitted to the CA AHG chair, Mike Hogan (m.hogan@nist.gov). Comments on N396 should be submitted to the
M1 Vice-Chair, Colin
Soutar
(colin.soutar@bioscrypt.com).
In
order for comment to be discussed at the January meeting of INCITS M1, inputs must
be submitted by 6
January 2004.
